Dense Irregular Connective Tissue of the Dermis

The pink stained collagen fibers of the dense irregular connective tissue cause the dermis to appear pink. Also appearing in the dermis are scattered fibroblasts and white blood cells with their purple nuclei showing amongst the collagen fibers.
